ABOUT

We've been here a little while...

The Oak Hills neighborhood of Boonton Township, NJ began on July 25, 1946, with a deed transferring ownership of building lots in our private, peaceful riverside setting from Elizabeth and William W. Wetmore to Rock Ridge Builders Inc.  The deed Included text indicating the ‘right to use that portion of land lying between River Road and the Rockaway River, south of Lot 14A, Block 1…’  (aka the current OHA property).  Less than a year later, on July 22, 1947 the original charter of what is now the Oak Hills Association was filed as a Non-Profit Corporation.  Six years later, on August 14, 1953, the 37 River Rd property was formally deeded to the Association with the following instruction ‘Said land is to be used as a recreational center and bathing beach and maintained as such by the (Oak Hills Association)’.  The Association been managing it ever since!

Today our beautiful riverfront property includes a pool, pavilion, and boat racks in addition to our large lawn for recreation.  Membership dues support these facilities and allow us to host social activities and events that benefit all who participate.  Meetings are held twice yearly to update the membership on the status of the Association, solicit input, and encourage discussion.  All current Oak Hills residents are eligible to join the Association.
